Date Posted:27 May 2024

When it comes to choosing the right motorcycle helmet, finding the perfect balance between quality and affordability can be challenging. The RJAYS Apex IV Motorcycle Helmet, however, achieves this balance effortlessly. While it may not compete with the top-tier helmets on the market, it offers exceptional value for money within its class. With a focus on comfort, safety, aerodynamics, and a range of practical features, the Apex IV is a reliable companion for both casual and comuting riders. Here’s a closer look at what makes this helmet a standout choice.

Comfort

The RJAYS Apex IV Motorcycle Helmet stands out in its class for delivering exceptional comfort at an affordable price. From the moment I put it on, the plush interior padding made me feel like the helmet was custom-made for my head. The padding molds perfectly to the contours of my head, ensuring a snug and secure fit. The ride I tested it on lasted for about 5 hours, and I didn’t get tired of wearing it. This level of comfort allowed me to focus solely on my ride without any distractions from pressure points or discomfort.

Safety

Safety is a key concern for any motorcyclist, and the RJAYS Apex IV does not disappoint. For its price point, it offers robust protection that exceeds Australian safety standards. The helmet's high-quality materials and solid construction provide reliable impact protection, giving me confidence every time I hit the road. The secure fit ensures the helmet stays in place, even during sudden movements or bumps in the road. With the Apex IV, I feel assured that my head is well-protected, allowing me to ride with peace of mind.

Aerodynamics

The RJAYS Apex IV excels in aerodynamic performance, making it an excellent choice for both weekend rides and daily commutes. The helmet's streamlined design reduces wind resistance, allowing for a smoother ride with less noise and turbulence. This aerodynamic efficiency not only enhances riding comfort but also improves overall performance, especially at higher speeds. Whether cutting through the wind on a highway or enjoying a leisurely ride, the Apex IV’s aerodynamic design ensures a stable and enjoyable experience.

Features

The RJAYS Apex IV Motorcycle Helmet is packed with features that enhance the riding experience without breaking the bank. One standout feature I found was the adjustable air vents, which allowed me to adjust the ventilation while riding. This was particularly beneficial during my long ride into the mountains where it was cold in the morning but got quite hot around lunch time. Another impressive feature is the integrated drop-down tinted visor. With a simple flick of a switch, I can deploy the visor to shield my eyes when I came out of the shady mountain roads. This was much easier than messing around with seperate sunglasses. Additionally, the helmet's convenient clip system was really good and I had no problem clipping and unclipping with my gloves on.

For those who prefer a cleaner, more minimalist look, the helmet is also available in white. This neutral variety ensures that riders can match their bike with these helmets and will appeal to a large range of riders.

Any downside?

While the RJAYS Apex IV offers great value, it does come with some drawbacks. One potential downside is that the helmet might feel a bit snug for riders with larger heads and I had to go 1 size larger than my normal helmet. Additionally, the drop-down visor, while convenient, may not provide sufficient coverage for those who prefer a fully shaded visor but that shouldnt deter you as there are tinted visors available and they are pretty easy to replace. Lastly, some riders might find the helmet slightly heavier compared to higher-end models, which could impact comfort during very long rides.

Conclusion

In summary, the RJAYS Apex IV Motorcycle Helmet is a top-tier choice within its price range for riders seeking comfort, safety, and practical features. Its plush padding, robust safety features, aerodynamic design, and convenient visor and clip system make it a standout option in its class. Available in a range of neutral colors, it will appeal to a large group of riders. Despite a few minor drawbacks, the Apex IV offers excellent value for money and is sure to serve its purpose without stretching your budget.
